Gravestones of St. Andrews Churchyard Great Linford
St. Andrews churchyard at Great Linford, Buckinghamshire, contains several hundred gravestones and family plots, as well as a number of vaults, some dating from the early 1700s. The visitor will also find a considerable number of so called footstones, which served in tandem with headstones to indicate the orientation of the grave, literally head to foot.

The Bird family plot
The Bird family were a significant presence in the village and have a large family plot and several other memorials within the churchyard. See also a memorial plaque to Henry Bird within St. Andrews church.

Uniquely in the churchyard, the dates of death and age for the Cape sisters are written in Roman numerals. Ann passed away on August 12th, aged 77, Maria on November 3rd, 1864, aged 86.
